Sons and Daughters of God PDF Print E-mail

I wanted to share this insight that the Lord just gave me this morning.

Every human being can trace their roots back to Adam. We are all sons and daughters of Adam. Because Adam sinned we are all born with inclinations toward sin. We sin because we are sinful. But Jesus Christ, the Son of God, came to die in our place so that we may be reborn. He said in John 3:5 that we are to be reborn "of water and of the Spirit." This means that we are not the sons and daughters of Adam anymore but the sons and daughters of God. This is only by believing because nothing in our physical realm will change; although, our likes and dislikes, our conscience and etc are undergoing transformation. Now, as we grow to believe who we are as new born babies, we will see more and more that we are not subjects of sin any longer. We are subjects to our new Father and not to the old. We, through the death of Jesus Christ, are dead to our old fathers and now are alive to God (Rom 6:11).

I asked myself, "How does a son and daughter of God look like?" The answer, which I'm sure you know, is simple. Jesus Christ is our Redeemer, Lord, Friend, Brother and also Example, as so many Scriptures portray Him to be (ex. 1 Peter 2:21-23). He is the Son of God and thus He showed us what a son and daughter of God looks like. How we should walk, talk, love, hate, live etc. 2 Corinthians 3:18 tells us that God's goal is to transform each of us into the likeness of Jesus Christ. His will is that each of us will resemble Him and He said that He will do it. Why? Because we are the sons and daughters of God by adoption and we are to live accordingly (Eph 1:5). Is that powerful or what? Praise the Lord!

Beloved, you are the son or daughter of the Creator of the universe and all that exists in it. You are only subject to Him and nothing or no one else. You don't have to fall into temptation because you are not a son or daughter of Adam any longer but a son or daughter of the second Adam who did not sin. You are free in Him to live the life that He has purposed you to live in or to deny Him. He loves you eternally and longs to get to know you better and transform you into the likeness of His Son, Jesus Christ, so that He may have an unbreakable relationship with you. Will you let Him transform you?

Remember that Jesus Christ loves you and He is coming for you.
